| If you are a school or parent requesting Kids Camp in your school, or if you are interested in instructing Kids Camp, contact John Johnson, john@kidscamplasvegas.com, (702) 513-9422. Kids Camp Las Vegas is a nonprofit organization sponsored and funded by Boot Camp Las Vegas. Our goal is to aide the Clark County School District and private schools in this time of decreased funding for physical education. Every school is eligible for our program. The class times and dates are at the schools discretion, and are provided to the schools free of charge. There will be a nominal $10 per week fee per child charged directly from Kids Camp Las Vegas to the parents to cover part of the instructor and administration costs. Scholarships are available for parents not able to cover the cost of Kids Camp. Classes will be provided for the kids according to demand, and will be limited to 20 kids per class. Kids Camp Las Vegas will provide all waivers, insurance, and equipment with assistance from companies like Boot Camp Las Vegas and Speedway Children's Charities. Our instructors are not only Youth Personal Trainer Certified but also trained by Kids Camp Las Vegas. We not only have current background checks on every person within our organization that comes in contact with kids, but we will also have mostly CCSD and private school teachers trained as instructors. This way, the teachers are able to increase their income and involvement with their students. We do not require anything from the schools except the use of their facilities before and after school. Every workout is pre-planned for the instructors with workouts deemed safe and fun for the kids. Our mission is to fight childhood obesity and change Clark County from being one of the fattest counties in the nation to one of the fittest. Because our resources are limited we will only be starting off in 10 schools, but in 5 years we plan on being in every school in the valley, and in 15 years, we hope that all of our efforts will result in a fitter, happier Clark County. We look forward to serving the children, parents, and schools of the Las Vegas Valley. |
